Here's what to do if you get soap in your eye:
The most important thing is to immediately flush your eye with plenty of clean, lukewarm water. Use a gentle stream to avoid further irritation.
If you wear contact lenses, remove them as soon as possible, but only after you've started flushing your eye. Soap can get trapped under the lens, prolonging the irritation.
Continue rinsing for at least 15-20 minutes. Don't stop just because the initial stinging subsides.
Try to blink frequently during the flushing process. This helps to wash away the soap.
You can use an eyewash station if one is readily available. Follow the instructions on the station.
If you experience persistent pain, vision changes, redness, or irritation after rinsing, consult a doctor or eye care professional. They can check for any corneal abrasions or other damage.
Avoid rubbing your eye, as this can worsen irritation and potentially scratch the cornea.
